One of the top hotels to visit in Barbados is the Fairmont Royal Pavilion, a seriously stylish Bajan sanctuary to relax and unwind, with all the elegance and sophistication of old-world charm. Stunning views over one of the best beaches in Barbados.

Arguably unrivalled facilities, with everything for families with children, little ones and teenagers entertained with treasure hunts and the whole range of watersports, meeting the funny little green monkeys that wander around the grounds or getting close up and personal with the greenback turtles who nest very close by – there are daily swims with the turtles. (note: children under 11 yrs old are only able to stay from mid-March to end of October). Time for parents or for couples; garden tours of the amazing luxurious grounds, the leisurely or invigorating watersports, a fitness centre, a game of tennis, and a concierge who will help and arrange all possibilities on and around the island.

Dining is amazing at the http://www.barbadostraveldeals.co.uk/barbados/hotels/fairmont-royal-pavillion.htmlrestaurant or the Palm restaurant, both very highly regarded on the island. All fish is sourced locally and guests can join the fisherman and catch their own Snapper or King Fish which the chef will then help prepare and cook that evening!

All guest rooms overlook the stunning sparkling Caribbean sea and if staying in a Junior Beachfront Suite, you will be fast-tracked through Customs and Immigration on arrival at the airport, you will have a butler service and complimentary canapés served on your private oceanfront balcony each evening.

And lots more. Call us at Barbados Travel Deals on 0845 6434 606 // 01977 524235 for more information and an exceptional deal to stay at the http://www.barbadostraveldeals.co.uk/barbados/hotels/fairmont-royal-pavillion.html, Barbados.

In the Sunday Times yesterday, it refers to the ‘blinged up and flashier hotels……of the west-facing Platinum coast of Barbados‘. Although the west coast is the more affluent area, there are still great lowish-costing deals on the west coast for luxury options. Staying at Tamarind or Mango Bay will deliver everything you may want. The South coast is generally more affordable but still has amazing hotels on wonderful beaches. Bougainvillea or Ocean Two are favourites for luxury but easy access to the St Lawrence Gap and Oistins nightlife. I’m not sure that I agree with ‘better for watersports and nightlife’ as I love both coasts and if you want to just sail up the west coast on a catamaran on still turquoise waters (as we do), the west coast is it. If you want to party in St Lawrence Gap every night , then maybe the South coast is for you, but restaurants and bars are in abundance in Holetown on the west coast. Wherever you are, it’s easy by public transport or taxi to get to Oistins in the South for the ‘must-do’ Saturday night street party.

If you’ve been to Barbados before (or even if you haven’t) and you’d like the excitement of Barbados but then to escape from it all for some of your holiday, there are places in Barbados, but even better, take yourselves off to Palm Island or another hideaway in the Grenadines. Most islands are a short 45 minute/1 hour flight from Barbados. On Palm Island, you turn off all your Wi-Fi devices (there is very limited access) and forget television or word from the outside world (again, very limited on purpose).

Staying for a week at eg. The House in Barbados, exclusively for adults, peaceful and relaxing on the west coast of Barbados so you can do as much or as little as you’d like, then take a 45 minute flight to Union Island and a 10 minute private boat transfer to Palm Island. The idyllic Caribbean with no less than five beautiful white beaches and crystal clear turquoise water and easy access to the best scuba-diving and snorkelling around the Grenadines – think ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ (the movie, not scary people) at Tobago Cays.

At prices from£ 2,500 pp, this is a holiday of a lifetime, but you can even bring the price down with a different luxury Barbados hotel. Talk to us and let us help plan your special holiday. Call on 01977 524235/ 0845 6434 606 or email info@barbadostraveldeals.co.uk.

Exciting news that the new COUPLES BARBADOS resort is open!!
This brand new All-Inclusive adult-only resort is sited where the Almond Casuarina was, on the South coast on the beautiful Dover Beach at the far end of St Lawrence Gap and thus easy to walk into ‘the Gap’.

I am not well known for supporting the All-Inclusive service in Barbados, as I so want people to get out and about, but I do believe that it has it’s place. Certainly for wedding parties, and I believe that Couples Barbados is going to be a wonderful wedding destination. I only dismiss All Inclusive as I implore visitors to get out and about on the island as the island is your resort. Provided that’s understood, All Inclusive is of course perfect in order to manage your budget or simply not to worry about money once you arrive. Couples resort offers complimentary trips out and about on the island so I will be reviewing my All Inclusive concerns in a very positive light for this hotel. It ensures you see plenty of what Barbados has to offer without extra cost. Great!!

Couples Barbados has three wonderful restaurants, five bars, three freshwater swimming pools, a spa, a gym, floodlit tennis courts, plenty of different room types and many ‘extras’ that go the extra mile to make All Inclusive feel just that! Keep watching this blog for more info on those extras.

If you’re thinking of getting married in Barbados, there are many wonderful spots, but I believe that Couples Barbados is going to be highly successful following in the footsteps of its Couples resorts in Jamaica – elegant, romantic retreats that make you feel special.

Missed blogging for a while. About time I caught up.

So this is about Spice Island in Grenada. I haven’t been yet but I’ve been doing my research over a long time and am so keen to go. It’s expensive but seems worth every penny for a topnotch luxury caribbean holiday. I shouldn’t really mention tripadvisor cos it doesn’t always deliver ‘true’ results but Spice Island is considered the Number 1 resort in Grenada and has won Traveller’s Choice 2013 for Best Service. Its location on the Grand Anse beach seems second to none along that 2 mile stretch of beach. The all-suite accommodations are spice coloured with generous sized everything and what’s more, every suite is a few steps from that awesome beach. The accommodation, the high quality cuisine and the service excellence all go to create a 5 star holiday of a lifetime!

In Barbados, their festivals are one of the ways in which they celebrate their unique culture. Visiting during any of the following will add fun to your holiday and allow you to share in the Barbadian way.

So looking to 2013, the great festival calendar starts with the Jazz festival in January.
Then from 10th February, a week of the Holetown festival, showcasing Barbados traditions – it is a celebration of the arrival into Holetown of the first settlers in February 1627. It’s a fun place to wander around, watch some performances, eat great local food, shop for local crafts etc.

A less well-known festival but one I’m certainly looking forward to is the Celtic Festival Barbados, held in 2013 between May 23rd and May 29th. Professional musicians from Ireland, Scotland and Wales playing at various venues across the island. A very exciting festival sharing some of the Celtic links with Barbados. Music, food and beautiful sunshine!

Then of course, the renowned Cropover festival, often mentioned on this blog, in July and into August. As it sounds, this is the equivalent of a Harvest festival and a wonderful traditional celebration on the island. Closer to the time, I will post a calendar of the highlights.

And dates yet to be announced, but another up and coming festival that gets rave reviews! The Barbados food, wine and rum festival in november. I’ll let you know!

After Sandy Lane, there are a handful of superior 5* hotels in Barbados. This blog looks at Cobbler’s Cove, only 4* but another favourite with the international glitterati somewhat more private. Would you like award-winning international cuisine? Cobblers Cove is a foodie haven. It is one of only five hotels and restaurants in the Caribbean to be invited to be a member of the prestigious Relais & Chateaux organisation.

The main restaurant at Cobbler’s Cove sits at the edge of the beach and overlooks the Caribbean Sea and this perfect setting and outstanding local and international cuisine has won the Barbados Gold Award six times; you can even join an early morning trip with Barker, the hotel’s personal fisherman, and then the French trained chefs will prepare your catch for you to enjoy the same evening. Enjoy the freshest local produce on the wonderful terrace restaurant, or take afternoon tea in the sitting room of the Plantation House.

A warm and welcoming luxury hotel, with friendly and attentive staff for all your needs.

Cobbler’s Cove is a wonderfully pampered experience for those wanting true 5* accommodation and service. Call us at Barbados Travel Deals for a great deal on this exceptional holiday. 0845 6434 606/01977 524235

Often people calling looking for a ‘different’ Caribbean experience are not even aware of St. Vincent and the Grenadines, known to the locals as SVG. People may have heard of Mustique in the earlier Mick Jagger days, or more recently from the villa holiday that William and Kate joined the Middletons on. SVG consists of 32 small islands and cays that offer the ultimate Caribbean experience, sort of Robinson Crusoe desert island style, a short flight away from Barbados.

A villa on tiny Mustique is an option, but so is their one exclusive hotel, the Cotton House, a favourite with international jet-setters. Bequia (pronounced Beck-Way) is adorned with villas and also offers the Bequia Beach hotel as their exclusive hideaway. The most popular with my clients is the private island of Palm Island’s sheer escapism. Or Young Island, again a desert island just for you. Another affordable favourite is Canouan, staying at the rustic -newly refurbished – Tamarind Beach hotel in a Beachfront room. Heaven.

Finally for this blog, on St Vincent itself is the relatively new Buccament Bay, a family-friendly all-inclusive resort which is winning awards left, right and centre.

All islands provide a base for sailing to other islands and cays – Tobago Cays has the wow! factor – and diving and snorkelling in some of the best waters in the world. These are magical islands offering holidays of a lifetime!

I’m regularly asked about the cost of eating out in Barbados. My view is that it is as expensive or as cheap as you’d like. The restaurants always highlighted are the fine dining more costly restaurants, such as The Cliff, more about the wonderful ambience and experience. Yes, dining in such places may well be hundreds of pounds but you can go and savour the experience over a cocktail or two instead.

I am still in the anti-All Inclusive in Barbados brigade, but simply because Barbados does not offer the huge All Inclusives like Mexico, Dominican Republic etc, where you don’t really leave your enormous ‘compound’. Despite this, in Barbados Mango Bay and Crystal Cove are firm favourites and Turtle Beach and Casuarina are all great All Inclusive options if you have kids or want to fix your budget.

But Barbados is about the island. Barbados Travel Deals will advise on cheaper places to eat, the street vendors, the ‘white van’ vendors, the fish fries (Oistins in particular) and the supermarkets offering wonderful cooked local food. Alcohol is cheap if you stick to their (light) Banks beer and Mount Gay or Cockspur rum. You don’t need bottled water as Barbados has one of the cleanest water supplies in the world (filtered naturally through limestone) but don’t take my word on that – I just always drink tap water there. Groceries are costly at the supermarket, but it is an island and so most is imported. Look for local foodstuffs and give it a go.

Come to us at Barbados Travel Deals and we will offer plenty of advice and then once booked, we will send you all the information you may need to suit your needs.

Whilst I’m on a roll with Hotel and Resort awards, the very new Buccament Bay Resort has received honours and recognition galore in 2012.

This luxury, all-inclusive Buccament Bay Resort has won the prestigious World Travel Awards’ (WTA) “Caribbean’s Leading New Hotel” category for 2012, and also received another award for “Leading Spa Resort 2012” in St Vincent & The Grenadines.

More recognition came from Travel Weekly with three places in the “Best hotels in the world
To add to the prestige, Buccament Bay Resort has been named a 2012 Fodor’s Choice hotel by Fodor’s Travel, the world leader in travel guides, considered ‘the best of the best’.
