Flying Fish Kids Clubs – new activities
And big news regarding the Flying Fish Kids Clubs at Turtle Beach, Crystal Cove and Tamarind and the Kids Corner at Colony Club. There are exciting new activities and excursions lined up for kids this summer. The already integrated on-site activities such as arts & crafts, games, beach sports, watersports and swimming, but in addition, families can now sign-up for the new Bajan Adventure Kids Camp including off-site excursions such as horseback riding, catamaran tour to swim with sea turtles, surfing lessons, submarine tours, eco-adventure hiking tours, and more! Parents can join in or take some R&R whilst their little ones explore and learn about Barbados.

For more information on any of these new additions, just call Barbados Travel Deals on 0845 6434 606 / 01977 524235 or email info@barbadostraveldeals.co.uk. They’re great hotels and they’re simply offering even more.

Yes, there’s more happening at this lovely group of hotels in Barbados. Tamarind, The House (Adult-only), Crystal Cove (All-Inclusive), Colony Club and Turtle Beach (All-Inclusive and the only one in the South of the island). All 4 star with The House and Colony Club a little bit more, but all well worth a stay. We love Tamarind because of the long beautiful stretch of beach. All have complimentary watersports irrespective of board.

Turtle Beach update;
The Waterfront restaurant has been redesigned and more outdoor seating for the beachside dining experience.
Chelonia restaurant has a new seating extended to the outdoor courtyard with a new covered entertainment stage.
Asiago’s restaurant has new lighting and seating and is now under the leadership of a new executive chef, Fabio Brianti.
New menu selections including smoothies and smoked salmon at breakfast, all day snacks, and new and improved a la carte menus in the three restaurants.
The main lap pool has been resurfaced and both pool deck areas have new contemporary lounge furniture with extra plush 2″ cushions.

The House continues to win awards since its facelift, and holding it’s No.1 position on Tripadvisor for Barbados hotels.

As of next month (April), Turtle Beach and Crystal Cove, the two All-Inclusive hotels in the group will be offering all-day dining. Guests can enjoy deli-style sandwiches, burgers, pizzas and other items to cope with those munchies during your busy day at the beach or by the pool.

The Elegant Hotels Group continues to gather accolades from various Travel Industry bodies including a Gold Magellan award for The House in the Standard Room Design category and a Silver in the Upscale Resort/Hotel category. All five properties and Daphne’s received the 2013 Trip Advisor Certificate of Excellence award.

Colony Club reopened on 1 October unveiling the new restaurant and rooms which had been renovated during the September closure.

The House is now Number 1 on TripAdvisor due to their impeccable service. The reviews are wonderful!

Crystal Cove’s latest upgrades are mainly focused on the outdoor and dining areas. With new stylish pool deck furniture and an overhaul of Drifters restaurant, now their Reflections restaurant will present an equally stylish new look. Also great news that Crystal Cove will be introducing all day dining.

And Turtle Beach will also be focussing on their outdoor and dining areas, updating all three restaurants during the next few months.

And with the lovely Tamarind hotel, that makes up the five Elegant Hotel Group’s Barbados properties covering West and South, All-Inclusive and various board options, Adult only and family-friendly.

I’m regularly asked about the cost of eating out in Barbados. My view is that it is as expensive or as cheap as you’d like. The restaurants always highlighted are the fine dining more costly restaurants, such as The Cliff, more about the wonderful ambience and experience. Yes, dining in such places may well be hundreds of pounds but you can go and savour the experience over a cocktail or two instead.

I am still in the anti-All Inclusive in Barbados brigade, but simply because Barbados does not offer the huge All Inclusives like Mexico, Dominican Republic etc, where you don’t really leave your enormous ‘compound’. Despite this, in Barbados Mango Bay and Crystal Cove are firm favourites and Turtle Beach and Casuarina are all great All Inclusive options if you have kids or want to fix your budget.

But Barbados is about the island. Barbados Travel Deals will advise on cheaper places to eat, the street vendors, the ‘white van’ vendors, the fish fries (Oistins in particular) and the supermarkets offering wonderful cooked local food. Alcohol is cheap if you stick to their (light) Banks beer and Mount Gay or Cockspur rum. You don’t need bottled water as Barbados has one of the cleanest water supplies in the world (filtered naturally through limestone) but don’t take my word on that – I just always drink tap water there. Groceries are costly at the supermarket, but it is an island and so most is imported. Look for local foodstuffs and give it a go.

Come to us at Barbados Travel Deals and we will offer plenty of advice and then once booked, we will send you all the information you may need to suit your needs.

Highlighting some of the 2012 successes of my favourite group of hotels in Barbados, the ‘Elegant Hotels Group’ so often mentioned in these blogs as they are amongst the more affordable 4 to 5* hotels on the island.
Elegant Hotels Group have a commitment to service excellence, fine culinary experiences and provide the ultimate beach and water sports environment for their guests. This commitment is recognised not just by the travel industry but by the guests;

Elegant Hotels, the company which owns five hotel properties on Barbados, is considering the addition of a further property on the beautiful island and to further expand onto other Caribbean islands, such as St. Lucia and Antigua.

With the All Inclusive Turtle Beach on the South Coast, perfect for family havens, then Crystal Cove, The House, Tamarind and Colony Club on the platinum West Coast, all 4* or 5* recommended hotels. Crystal Cove is also All Inclusive, and The House is for adults only and next door – with Daphne’s restaurant in between – to the livelier Tamarind on that wonderful stretch of beach.

For me, the Elegant Group have got it right. Their properties are lovely with a continual refurbishing programme, they offer service excellence and their visitors return year after year, hence them wanting to offer other islands and thus becoming a Caribbean hotel company.

Crystal Cove is already a big favourite for families visiting the west coast of Barbados, as one of the few All Inclusive, luxury Barbados hotels and recently renovated. The Elegant Hotel Group has just announced that they’ll be opening The Flying Fish Kids Club at Crystal Cove this summer, following the launch at Tamarind in 2010 and Turtle Beach last summer.

The Flying Fish Kids Club at Crystal Cove will welcome children aged 3 – 11 years and is open from 9am until 9pm allowing parents some serious rest and relaxation. Beach cricket, football, table tennis, art classes, even Bajan cooking lessons, themed parties, karaoke and movie nights – just some of the activities.

Barbados Travel Deals have great offers for Crystal Cove this summer. Book now!

I am always a tad biased (I try not to be – honest) when people want to book All Inclusive in Barbados and yet those who book Mango Bay, Crystal Cove and Turtle Beach go back and back and back. Sad that Almond Beach Village - the largest – has closed, but Almond Casuarina is another great affordable option. Maybe I’m missing out on not doing All Inclusive in Barbados. For families, I understand totally and even for some couples who simply want to stick to a budget as much as possible, I understand, but for those who want to spend more time getting to know the island, we at Barbados Travel Deals can help out with places to dine without the ‘fine dining’ price that comes with much of the wondeful fine dining in Barbados.

Self-catering -v- Bed and Breakfast is for another topic…

Turtle Beach Barbados, another of the Elegant Hotel Group’s hotels in Barbados, has been redesigned and refurbished. Turtle Beach Resort Barbados is on the South coast of Barbados at the far end of St. Lawrence Gap so very easy to walk into the Gap in the evening for dining and entertainment. The Turtle Beach Hotel is all inclusive and very family friendly – a premium all-suite property with 161 rooms.

A big part of the new look Turtle Beach Barbados are the changes made to the Kids club area and the introduction of a new educational kids program. The Flying Fish Kids club recently opened to little people from 3 years to 12 years of age, with educational and cultural lessons, entertainment and indoor and outdoor activities from Calypso Dancing to cooking classes. The club is open from 9am to 9pm to give parents and guardians plenty of rest in the knowledge that the kids are busy and happy.

The Turtle Beach Resort is featured on Barbados Travel Deals where you can see a detailed property description, photographs and prices.  For more information on the Turtle Beach Barbados and up to the minute prices, call us now and speak to a Barbados travel specialist.  We have lots more luxury Barbados holidays at bargain holiday prices.

Turtle Beach Barbados is one of the group of ‘Elegant’ hotels that I often speak of – The House Barbados, Tamarind, Colony Club and Crystal Cove. Turtle Beach differs from its sister hotels in that it is on the popular South Coast of Barbados and is All Inclusive like Crystal Cove. It gets its name from the nesting of the delightful sea turtles at the site on the expansive white sand beach.

Turtle Beach  rooms are suites, 161 of them of varying shapes and sizes,  so a little larger than most of the hotels on Barbados Travel Deals, but allowing in its six acres of landscaped tropical gardens, for all the facilities that a good Barbados All Inclusive hotel requires! A great kids club for kids from 3yrs to 11yrs open daily from 9am to 9pm – what every kid and Mum and Dad need! …and plenty of diverse complimentary water sports from that beautiful beach!

Turtle Beach is only 15 minutes from Barbados airport and 10 minutes from Bridgetown with a complimentary daily shuttle.  St Lawrence Gap is within walking distance offering nightlife and also fun for everyone with restaurants, bars and roadside stalls with food and gifts.

For great Barbados holidays, and specifically a great all inclusive holiday in Barbados, Turtle Beach will hit the right note.  You can read more about Turtle Beach and see Turtle Beach photos.  Call us for current availability and the best Barbados deals on all Barbados holidays.
