If you want to be close to a local town for dining and nightlife, it’s quite simple in Barbados. If you’re on the west coast, you are generally close to Holetown eg. Mango Bay, Colony Club, Coral Reef Club, The Sandpiper to name but a few within walking distance, or a little further north, the smaller Speightstown, closer to Cobbler’s Cove, Little Good Harbour or Sugar Cane Club. In the South, the closest ‘centre’ would be St Lawrence Gap, two All Inclusive hotels on it’s doorstep are Turtle Beach and Casuarina. Strewn along the way there are lovely oceanfront bars and restaurants and even open air nightclubs playing Calypso, Reggae, Soca (Soul Calypso) and R&B. It’s always great to find a local band playing at Harbour Lights or The Boatyard , both near Bridgetown or at the Reggae Lounge in St Lawrence Gap. To add to the evening entertainment on offer, take a romantic cruise in the moonlight or take in a show extravaganza with dinner or just simply quietly relax just about anywhere. Barbados has it all! And whatever you do, don’t miss the Friday fishfry at Oistins (south of the Gap)!

Although debatable, when a Client asks me for somewhere a bit ‘different’ in Barbados, I almost always go straight for Little Arches and Little Good Harbour. Two very different properties with the former being in the South, close to St Lawrence Gap and all it’s fun life in the evenings and particularly close to Oistins for the friday night street party and wonderful fish fry, bringing locals and tourists from all over the island. The latter, Little Good Harbour is on the west coast but north of the ‘West Coast strip’ of hotels, closer to Speightstown, a charming little non-touristy, almost run-down looking town (look for the charming as there’s plenty to find). Little Good Harbour has the famous Fishpot restaurant and it’s fishing village offers it’s own Friday fish fry. The only potential downside to Little Good Harbour is that it’s easier to get out and about with a car – hence the real hideaway feeling.

Call us at Barbados Travel Deals to chat about it as there is still public transport – and obviously taxis – that can take you into the more populated areas if you wanted. An escape from Barbados glitz right in Barbados!

I have just had a client return from Little Good Harbour on the North West coast of Barbados. They were delighted with their holiday in Barbados. I had gathered that they wanted somewhere a little away from the glitz and glamour of Barbados and here you have it. Their delight came from the style of Barbados villa with the contemporary bathrooms and kitchen with the feel of being in a Barbados home with the added benefits of a fab service from the staff at Little Good Harbour.

They did take out Barbados car hire for a few days as recommended but spent many days jus’ chillin’ and ventured into Speightstown (approx 5km away) to try a couple of typical Barbadian restaurants in the evening. Of course, the renowned Fish Pot restaurant is on site at Little Good Harbour on the beach and offers some of the best fish dishes on the island.

So if you are looking for the most idyllic property where you can relax, be pampered yet be far away enough from the glitz not to be bothered by it, then Little Good Harbour takes some beating.  Let us make your Barbados holiday arrangements for you, we can take care of Barbados car hire, Barbados flights, Barbados excursions and much more…we can even advise on Barbados fine dining restaurants.

The Fishpot restaurant sitting on the beach at Little Good Harbour is part of the converted 17th Century fort situated next to a quiet fishing village in St Lucy. Little Good Harbour is a luxury Barbados hotel.

The restaurant is airy and informal but offers casual and Barbados fine dining in a wonderful tropical atmosphere. The food served at the Fishpot restaurant Barbados is mainly fresh fish and seafood with caribbean flavours. Try the baby clams in Creole sauce or the lobster ravioli.

Attached to the Little Good Harbour lovely cottages and suites, the Fishpot restaurant is a favourite for many a more discerning international celebrity, who return regularly.

For a romantic Barbados honeymoon or relaxing Barbados holidays, the Little Good Harbour and the Fishpot make the perfect combination.

Ask Barbados Travel Deals about staying at Little Good Harbour and for more information regarding other luxury Barbados hotels or to chat about other restaurants close by on this wonderful island.

I’m surprised that I don’t get more clients choosing Little Good Harbour as my clients who have been there have been delighted with the accommodation and the service.

Little Good Harbour Barbados is a little further away from the restaurants than many Barbados hotels but with Barbados car hire, is the most idyllic spot to ‘getaway’ to.

If you want a true Caribbean hideaway, you don’t need a car, you have the ability to easily get to your 5* fine dining restaurants or just more ‘life’ occasionally – this is the place!

The staff at Little Good Harbour can’t do enough for you (my requests, as an agent for you, have always been fulfilled) and they have the wonderful Fishpot Restaurant which brings people (and many of the more-travelled celebrities) from miles around.

A cosy, contemporary hideaway that makes the perfect relaxing retreat and the most idyllic honeymoon or Barbados holidays destination.  You can book or chat informally about the Little Good Harbour hotel, or we will be happy to make other suggestions that may be more suitable for your needs.  Contact Barbados Travel Deals.
