Yes, it has re-opened. What was once the Almond Beach Village on the north side of the stunning west coast of Barbados, has had a $3 million uplift and re-opened as the family-friendly, all-inclusive that previous Clients have been waiting for.

Offering 135 rooms in the Southern half of what was the Village, the Almond Beach Resort provides great facilities for all the family or for adults without children. There are three swimming pools, one for toddling children, one for adults only, and one for everyone; two restaurants and bars; floodlit tennis courts, squash courts, fitness centre and golf practice range.almondbeachresort_dining

I am always a tad biased (I try not to be – honest) when people want to book All Inclusive in Barbados and yet those who book Mango Bay, Crystal Cove and Turtle Beach go back and back and back. Sad that Almond Beach Village - the largest – has closed, but Almond Casuarina is another great affordable option. Maybe I’m missing out on not doing All Inclusive in Barbados. For families, I understand totally and even for some couples who simply want to stick to a budget as much as possible, I understand, but for those who want to spend more time getting to know the island, we at Barbados Travel Deals can help out with places to dine without the ‘fine dining’ price that comes with much of the wondeful fine dining in Barbados.

Talk to us at Barbados Travel Deals where we can advise on All Inclusive options and the various other options if – and only if – you’re interested.

Self-catering -v- Bed and Breakfast is for another topic…

Yes it’s sad but true. The rumours concerning Almond Beach Village Barbados have now been confirmed and the announcement has been made that Almond Beach Village will close at the end of this month (April 2012).

The other two Almond properties in Barbados, Almond Beach Club & Spa on the West coast and Almond Casuarina on the South coast in St Lawrence Gap, will remain open.

A spokesperson for Almond Resorts has said to the press: “The Almond Beach Village property will be closed from April 30, 2012. In order to ensure the least amount of disruption, it is recommended that all guests currently booked at Almond Beach Village after this date contact their tour operator to be relocated to Almond Beach Club & Spa and/or Almond Casuarina Beach Resort in Barbados.”

This Barbados blog / Barbados blogger will be watching for news on all the Almond Resorts in Barbados and posting it here on Barbados Travel Deals.  Alternative luxury Barbados hotels to the Almond Beach Village can be viewed on our website where we have the best Barbados holiday deals on luxury Barbados holidays, hotels and Barbados villas.

Do flying fish actually fly? It does kinda look that way as these Barbados flying fish shoot out of the water and glide for thirty metres or more! Wonderful to watch; flying fish in Barbados have become a national emblem and are a big part of the Bajan diet and a regular offering to Barbados tourists. Flying fish cutters (sandwiches) – a must have when on your luxury Barbados holidays.

Of course there is a wealth of variety of fish in Barbados, particularly dolphin, red snapper, barracuda, kingfish and tuna. When on your luxury Barbados holidays prepare to be told a hundred times that dolphin is not ‘Flipper’ – Bajans love telling you this as their dolphin is a lovely (albeit not pretty-looking) fish, not a friendly porpoise.

Watch the Barbados fishermen at work down at Oistins village or up north of Almond Beach Village hotel near Speightstown.

Learn to cook, Bajan style and learn about Barbados cuisine. Learn to dance, West Indian style. All included in your Barbados All Inclusive holiday at the newly refurbished Almond Beach Village, Barbados. Almond Beach Village is the true All Inclusive Barbados hotel – there are only few all inclusive hotels in Barbados as generally the island itself is considered your ‘resort’. I always harp on about this as it is not to be compared to an All Inclusive in Mexico or the Dominican Republic or Cuba as I consider the Barbados all inclusive offering to be a very different experience; a Barbados holiday is a visit to see and experience the island from north to south and west to east and meet the people and feel comfortable ‘hanging out’ anywhere.

However, having said that, if you have little ones, the Almond Beach Village Barbados All Inclusive is just so convenient, explaining the high number of repeat clients to Almond Beach Village, particularly from the UK. You can still easily get out and about when you feel the need. So Almond Beach Village ticks all the boxes for All Inclusive hotel requirements; eleven pools, 5 restaurants, 400 rooms with so many categories to suit each family’s needs. Daycare, a nursery, a kids’ club, a teen centre – even a studio to get that family portrait that you never get around to getting sorted. Take a complimentary trip to the sister hotel of the Almond Beach Village, the Almond Casuarina in the south of Barbados, and exchange your dining there. If without kiddies, you can also visit the Almond Beach Club which is located next to the Sandy Lane hotel on the Barbados west coast.

Barbados Travel deals will make sure that you secure one of the newly refurbished Almond Beach Village rooms to ensure that you get the most out of your special luxury Barbados holiday.

I’m not the most supportive of Barbados All Inclusive holidays, simply because I love the island so much and see Barbados as your resort, rather than the hotel complex. However, I do agree that when you have children to keep fed, watered and amused, the Barbados All Inclusive holidays option can put your mind at ease.

This is where the Almond Beach Village comes into its own, as it makes a great base for a Barbados all inclusive holiday. The Almond Beach Village is a larger resort with ten pools, five restaurants and five bars, yet you can always find your own private spot to chill. It is high up on the West Coast at Speightstown. Also it is part of the Almond group of hotels and so adults can visit and exchange dining with the nearby Almond Beach Club and the Almond Casuarina, a beautiful and very child-friendly hotel on the South coast.

So if you are looking to go all inclusive Barbados / try a Barbados all inclusive holiday, try the Almond Beach Village / Almond resorts you should be pleasantly surprised!
