Yes, there’s more happening at this lovely group of hotels in Barbados. Tamarind, The House (Adult-only), Crystal Cove (All-Inclusive), Colony Club and Turtle Beach (All-Inclusive and the only one in the South of the island). All 4 star with The House and Colony Club a little bit more, but all well worth a stay. We love Tamarind because of the long beautiful stretch of beach. All have complimentary watersports irrespective of board.

Turtle Beach update;
The Waterfront restaurant has been redesigned and more outdoor seating for the beachside dining experience.
Chelonia restaurant has a new seating extended to the outdoor courtyard with a new covered entertainment stage.
Asiago’s restaurant has new lighting and seating and is now under the leadership of a new executive chef, Fabio Brianti.
New menu selections including smoothies and smoked salmon at breakfast, all day snacks, and new and improved a la carte menus in the three restaurants.
The main lap pool has been resurfaced and both pool deck areas have new contemporary lounge furniture with extra plush 2″ cushions.

The House continues to win awards since its facelift, and holding it’s No.1 position on Tripadvisor for Barbados hotels.

As of next month (April), Turtle Beach and Crystal Cove, the two All-Inclusive hotels in the group will be offering all-day dining. Guests can enjoy deli-style sandwiches, burgers, pizzas and other items to cope with those munchies during your busy day at the beach or by the pool.

More updates from the Elegant Hotel Group to follow.

Does it seem a tad early to be talking about Christmas 2014? Not for your Christmas in Barbados. In a couple of weeks, the flight schedules will be available and seats start ‘flying’ (ho) off the shelves. I’m writing now because I felt I was disappointing some Clients this year who wanted to fly on key dates over Christmas and New Year as they were asking too late for a palatable price, if even a seat at all. And as Premium Economy and Business seats are limited, they are like gold dust. They disappear very fast. And the cheaper ones go first (as with economy) as the ’supply and demand’ business model for a Barbados Christmas kicks in with little or no leeway for any last minute deals.

Then there’s the accommodation. Of course there’ll be accommodation available but the 5* book up almost instantly – many of course with repeat Clients. If you want your choice of the 4*, you also need to book early. The 5 Elegant Hotel Group properties from the All Inclusive Crystal Cove and Turtle Beach to adult only The House, or the new Barbados Sandals, or Bougainvillea on the south coast, close to St Lawrence Gap, and Mango Bay, All Inclusive, right in Holetown, offer many quality 4* hotels that would make your Christmas merry and bright!

It’s not all bad. Just start planning now and Barbados Travel Deals can help you secure an amazing holiday ahead of the hordes. And then you have your dream Christmas/New Year to look forward to all year.

So give Barbados Travel Deals a call or an email request 0845 6434 606 / 01977 524235 (info@barbadostraveldeals.co.uk) and give either specifics or an idea of your perfect Christmas holiday. We can provisionally book with some Operators even now or you can discuss with your partner/family now and in a couple of weeks when all Operators have their schedules and contracts we at Barbados Travel Deals, will be able to uncover the right holiday at the right price for you.

The Elegant Hotels Group continues to gather accolades from various Travel Industry bodies including a Gold Magellan award for The House in the Standard Room Design category and a Silver in the Upscale Resort/Hotel category. All five properties and Daphne’s received the 2013 Trip Advisor Certificate of Excellence award.

Colony Club reopened on 1 October unveiling the new restaurant and rooms which had been renovated during the September closure.

The House is now Number 1 on TripAdvisor due to their impeccable service. The reviews are wonderful!

Crystal Cove’s latest upgrades are mainly focused on the outdoor and dining areas. With new stylish pool deck furniture and an overhaul of Drifters restaurant, now their Reflections restaurant will present an equally stylish new look. Also great news that Crystal Cove will be introducing all day dining.

And Turtle Beach will also be focussing on their outdoor and dining areas, updating all three restaurants during the next few months.

And with the lovely Tamarind hotel, that makes up the five Elegant Hotel Group’s Barbados properties covering West and South, All-Inclusive and various board options, Adult only and family-friendly.

Exciting news that the new COUPLES BARBADOS resort is open!!
This brand new All-Inclusive adult-only resort is sited where the Almond Casuarina was, on the South coast on the beautiful Dover Beach at the far end of St Lawrence Gap and thus easy to walk into ‘the Gap’.

I am not well known for supporting the All-Inclusive service in Barbados, as I so want people to get out and about, but I do believe that it has it’s place. Certainly for wedding parties, and I believe that Couples Barbados is going to be a wonderful wedding destination. I only dismiss All Inclusive as I implore visitors to get out and about on the island as the island is your resort. Provided that’s understood, All Inclusive is of course perfect in order to manage your budget or simply not to worry about money once you arrive. Couples resort offers complimentary trips out and about on the island so I will be reviewing my All Inclusive concerns in a very positive light for this hotel. It ensures you see plenty of what Barbados has to offer without extra cost. Great!!

Couples Barbados has three wonderful restaurants, five bars, three freshwater swimming pools, a spa, a gym, floodlit tennis courts, plenty of different room types and many ‘extras’ that go the extra mile to make All Inclusive feel just that! Keep watching this blog for more info on those extras.

If you’re thinking of getting married in Barbados, there are many wonderful spots, but I believe that Couples Barbados is going to be highly successful following in the footsteps of its Couples resorts in Jamaica – elegant, romantic retreats that make you feel special.

I’m regularly asked about the cost of eating out in Barbados. My view is that it is as expensive or as cheap as you’d like. The restaurants always highlighted are the fine dining more costly restaurants, such as The Cliff, more about the wonderful ambience and experience. Yes, dining in such places may well be hundreds of pounds but you can go and savour the experience over a cocktail or two instead.

I am still in the anti-All Inclusive in Barbados brigade, but simply because Barbados does not offer the huge All Inclusives like Mexico, Dominican Republic etc, where you don’t really leave your enormous ‘compound’. Despite this, in Barbados Mango Bay and Crystal Cove are firm favourites and Turtle Beach and Casuarina are all great All Inclusive options if you have kids or want to fix your budget.

But Barbados is about the island. Barbados Travel Deals will advise on cheaper places to eat, the street vendors, the ‘white van’ vendors, the fish fries (Oistins in particular) and the supermarkets offering wonderful cooked local food. Alcohol is cheap if you stick to their (light) Banks beer and Mount Gay or Cockspur rum. You don’t need bottled water as Barbados has one of the cleanest water supplies in the world (filtered naturally through limestone) but don’t take my word on that – I just always drink tap water there. Groceries are costly at the supermarket, but it is an island and so most is imported. Look for local foodstuffs and give it a go.

Come to us at Barbados Travel Deals and we will offer plenty of advice and then once booked, we will send you all the information you may need to suit your needs.

Whilst I’m on a roll with Hotel and Resort awards, the very new Buccament Bay Resort has received honours and recognition galore in 2012.

This luxury, all-inclusive Buccament Bay Resort has won the prestigious World Travel Awards’ (WTA) “Caribbean’s Leading New Hotel” category for 2012, and also received another award for “Leading Spa Resort 2012” in St Vincent & The Grenadines.

More recognition came from Travel Weekly with three places in the “Best hotels in the world

If you want to be close to a local town for dining and nightlife, it’s quite simple in Barbados. If you’re on the west coast, you are generally close to Holetown eg. Mango Bay, Colony Club, Coral Reef Club, The Sandpiper to name but a few within walking distance, or a little further north, the smaller Speightstown, closer to Cobbler’s Cove, Little Good Harbour or Sugar Cane Club. In the South, the closest ‘centre’ would be St Lawrence Gap, two All Inclusive hotels on it’s doorstep are Turtle Beach and Casuarina. Strewn along the way there are lovely oceanfront bars and restaurants and even open air nightclubs playing Calypso, Reggae, Soca (Soul Calypso) and R&B. It’s always great to find a local band playing at Harbour Lights or The Boatyard , both near Bridgetown or at the Reggae Lounge in St Lawrence Gap. To add to the evening entertainment on offer, take a romantic cruise in the moonlight or take in a show extravaganza with dinner or just simply quietly relax just about anywhere. Barbados has it all! And whatever you do, don’t miss the Friday fishfry at Oistins (south of the Gap)!

Along with the new addition of The Flying Fish Kids’ Club at Crystal Cove on the west coast of Barbados, there was an extensive refurbishment of the bedrooms last year. Earlier this year, the reception and check-in areas were updated to offer a more contemporary looking welcome. More upgrades are expected during the year – Barbados Travel Deals will keep you posted.

Book your Barbados All Inclusive holiday at Crystal Cove with Barbados Travel Deals now.

Crystal Cove is already a big favourite for families visiting the west coast of Barbados, as one of the few All Inclusive, luxury Barbados hotels and recently renovated. The Elegant Hotel Group has just announced that they’ll be opening The Flying Fish Kids Club at Crystal Cove this summer, following the launch at Tamarind in 2010 and Turtle Beach last summer.

The Flying Fish Kids Club at Crystal Cove will welcome children aged 3 – 11 years and is open from 9am until 9pm allowing parents some serious rest and relaxation. Beach cricket, football, table tennis, art classes, even Bajan cooking lessons, themed parties, karaoke and movie nights – just some of the activities.

Barbados Travel Deals have great offers for Crystal Cove this summer. Book now!

I am always a tad biased (I try not to be – honest) when people want to book All Inclusive in Barbados and yet those who book Mango Bay, Crystal Cove and Turtle Beach go back and back and back. Sad that Almond Beach Village - the largest – has closed, but Almond Casuarina is another great affordable option. Maybe I’m missing out on not doing All Inclusive in Barbados. For families, I understand totally and even for some couples who simply want to stick to a budget as much as possible, I understand, but for those who want to spend more time getting to know the island, we at Barbados Travel Deals can help out with places to dine without the ‘fine dining’ price that comes with much of the wondeful fine dining in Barbados.
